Bloomington High School student who was awarded the Community Scholars Grant at Heartland Community College.  This is a two year full tuition paid grant!  Chris is currently enrolled in the Bloomington Area Career Center Digital Media program and plans to continue his education in Digital Media at Heartland Community College. CONGRATULATIONS!!

Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Explores Bloomington Police Department Explorers Program

The BAVC Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement class in conjunction with the Bloomington Police Department’s (BPD) Explorers Program has enjoyed first hand experience and training.  Read More....

Dual Credit Classes Offer Students College Credit (BACC)

Over the last two months 76 students from Bloomington Area Vocational Center (BAVC) enrolled into 10 Dual Credit classes offered by Heartland Community College. This totaled 291 Credit Hours with a cost of $67.00 per credit hour for a total savings of $19,497 for students and parents. Read More....

Early Childhood Education Adds

The Early Child Care Education (ECCE) Program has undergone an exciting curriculum change this school year. While still meeting the criteria as an articulated program with Heartland Community College, the students also have the opportunity to earn the Level 1 Credential that is the first tier in the Career Lattice developed by the Illinois Department of Human Services and the Illinois Network of Child Care Resource and Referral Agency (INCCRRA).
